NASCLA Offers Contractor Licensure Exams

Richard Schwartz is currently the COO and president of Village Park Homes. As a former division president of D.R. Horton in Charlotte, NC, Richard Schwartz has years of experience in the home construction industry. He has a track record of growing companies and managing large numbers of employees, and he recently passed the NASCLA test for his commercial contractors license.

There are several different licensures in the homebuilding industry that are required in each state state. One of these is the NASCLA test for commercial contractors licenses. NASCLA stands for National Association of State Contractors Licensing Agencies. This nonprofit organization essentially deals with the licensing of contractors and various aspects of the construction industry, working with agencies in each state regarding laws and regulations.

With a membership consisting of construction companies, trade associations, and local licensing agencies for contractors, NASCLA has developed materials and exams for a number of different licenses. The NASCLA Education Program also offers pre-licensure programs, continuing education courses, and remedial education programs.
